A beautiful overhaul job of cylinders used for 30-PCPC and 42-PCPC pile cutters. Pile cutters are hydraulic/mechanical clippers that cut huge concrete piles above and below sea level. Due to intensive use in salty seawater, the cylinders were quite damaged and urgently needed a 'major service,' so to speak. Testing on our own test bench Cyko started testing at 120 percent of the working pressure. It immediately became apparent that there were leaks. The cylinders were then disassembled and thoroughly inspected, and then provided with new seals. Some cylinders had their rods so damaged that they were treated with a so-called Laser-Cladding treatment. This makes the surface extra wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant. After the cylinders were reassembled, another test at 120% of the working pressure on our own workbench was carried out, which did not pose any problems. With a new paint layer according to IM2 ISO 12944, the cylinders are ready for use again!
